In this article, world-renowned bartender Dula Lorensuhewa describes how he makes the Mojito that everyone loves.  This authentic mojito recipe is made to the exact taste of the Mojito made by a  bar called La Bodeguita del Medio, in Havana Cuba.

This drink has many fathers, regardless of what story you decide to believe, this is a drink that is loved by everyone.  This classic, cool, refreshing and in-trend drink will quench your thirst every time.

  • 50 ml of Cuban Rum
  • 30 ml of fresh lime juice
  • 1 table spoon of caster sugar
  • 30ml of soda water
  • 8 mint leaves


To a tall glass, add 30 ml of lime juice, caster sugar and 8 leaves on mint (lay the leaves on the palm of your hand and give it a light clap before putting in the glass).  Give it a stir to make sure all the sugar is dissolved.  Fill the glass with crushed ice.  Add the rum and top it up with soda water.  Using a spoon, give it a good mix.

Garnish with a mint sprig and enjoy.
